In Center Dialysis RN

Our growing dialysis clinic is seeking an Alaska licensed RN (or an RN with the ability to license in AK) to perform the following:

*Responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care provided for a primarily adult/geriatric ESRD patient population.

*Utilizes nursing process to assess individual patient needs, determine and implement a plan of care, evaluate and revise plan according to changing patient care needs.

*Initiates and provides on-going patient and family education and includes patient/family in care planning, using appropriate forms to document care provided.

*Maintain communication with physicians, ancillary services, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for each patient.

*Responsible for maintaining standards of professional nursing practice and delegating tasks appropriately

Requirements:

*Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: A.D.N. or nursing diploma required. BSN is preferred.

*1 year of nursing required, dialysis experience preferred.

*Leadership ability and organizational skills.

*Computer software knowledge.

*Ability to communicate effectively.

*Ability to understand and implement government standards.

*Strong belief in quality patient care and maximizing clinical performance measures for each patient

*Commitment to principals of customer service for patients, staff and physicians

Home Program RN - 

Peritoneal & Home Hemodialysis

Our growing dialysis clinic is seeking an Alaska licensed RN (or an RN with the ability to license in AK) to perform the following:

*Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members in the coordination of patient care at home.

*Meet and evaluate perspective new home patients and explain modality options and home dialysis requirements.

*Be a liaison between the patient, supply company, PCP, and transplant to ensure continuity of care.

*Become proficient in the understanding and documentation of dialysis equipment and water quality in the home.

*Participate in care plan meetings, charting to maintain complete and accurate records.

*Interact with patients and their families to provide instruction and assess daily patient care needs and communicate patient needs to direct supervisor/physician.

*Participate in patient office visits with physician. Accurately receive and implement new physician orders.

*Schedule, obtain, review, and communicate results of tests to physician. Relay order changes to patient and caregiver.

*Complete required clinic records.

Education/Experience:

*Graduated from an accredited Registered Nurse program with current

*Alaska license or eligibility to obtain an Alaska license.

*Dialysis experience preferred.

*BSN preferred.

*Previous teaching experience or case management experience preferred.

In Center Patient Care Technicial (PCT)

We are seeking an energetic, dedicated person to fill a Patient Care Technician position at our dialysis clinic in Anchorage, AK. The primary responsibilities of this position are:

*Cares for and monitors patients before, during, and post dialysis treatment.

* Prepares dialysis machine and it's components for treatment.

* Transports patients, records patient's weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse rate and respiration rate.

* Explains dialysis procedure and operation of hemodialysis machine to patient before treatment to allay anxieties.

* Inspects and cleans area of access (fistula, graft, or catheter)

* Inspects equipment settings, including pressures, conductivity (proportion of chemicals to water), and temperature to ensure conformance to safety standards.

* Starts patient treatment according to physician order. 

* Monitors patient for adverse reaction and hemodialysis machine for malfunction.

* Assists in inventory and supply stocking in the dialysis clinic. 

Experience & skills needed for success:

* 1+ year of dialysis experience preferred, some health care/direct patient care experience required

* High school graduate, GED, or equivalent required

* CPR certification desirable -- must have ability to become certified

* Ability to become nationally certified within required time frame

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Knowledge of computers and technical skills

* Enthusiastic team player with a strong work ethic
